An opening round of three under 68 has Peter well positioned at the completion of round one of the Deutsche Bank Championship.

Playing with two previous winners of this event in Adam Scott and Vijay Singh, Peter made a fast start with consecutive birdies at the 10th and 11th holes (they started at the 10th). The first of the birdies came when he holed from just off the green and the next when he holed a monster putt form fifty feet.

 He made another good putt from 12 feet at the 12th to save par but a pulled tee shot at the 15th saw him miss the green with his approach and a bogey was the result. At the 16th he again holed from just off the green at the par three.

Peter made another lengthy putt at his tenth hole to move to three under but then bogeyed his 12th after being long with his tee shot. His final birdie came at the par five 7th (his 16th) after a nice pitch to five feet. 

It was a very good day on the greens for Peter and certainly an improvement on recent efforts from the tee.
