Peter has missed out on a chance to play the Open Championship after finishing in a tie for 6th and just two shots from the playoff at International Final Qualifying at Kingston Heath. Peter's opening round of 73 included a double bogey at the 13th and he then knew he needed something special on day two Two early birdies in his second round in the blustery conditions gave him some home of catching those ahead but he was unable to build on the fast start and finished with a round of 72. It was a good round in the conditions but like so many others who battled the winds on the great Kingston Heath layout it was perhaps a case of what might have been. "I felt I played really well today," said Peter after his round. "Looks like I will miss by two which is unfortunate but am happy enough with the way I played although not quite good enough." "I will now focus on a return to the Nationwide Tour where hopefully I can get a few early season starts although at this stage I am unsure where they will be."
