08_arnold_palmer_invitational_-_scott__miller_getty_imagesAfter enjoyable five hour drive from New Orleans on Monday, Peter is this week in Humble on the outskirts of Houston for this week's Shell Houston Open.

"I decided to drive as by the time I had have gone to the airport and then waited around and then the delays at the other end it was nearly as quick and more convenient to drive. It is also just one long road so it is was good to just relax and reflect back on last week and ahead to the next couple of weeks."

"The course this week is a pretty good one and they will have the greens running quick and I understand that they have a lot of run offs around the greens also. In the new time slot the event is in the week before Augusta they have tried to get it as close to Augusta like conditions - well as much as you can as far apart as the two courses are - in order to get as many of the leading players to the event as possible."

"Last week was great as it convinced me that all the work I have been putting in was of benefit. My results earlier were not exactly showing that to be the case but I felt that the signs were there for improvement and overall I played very solidly. My driving was a concern at times but it felt very good on Sunday."

"I will head across to Augusta on Sunday night. It seems that we have been able to secure a house there, as we have in the past, but of course getting a start so late might have been a concern but it seems we have it sorted out. I guess I need to sort out a way to play Augusta National also," added Peter referring to his four missed cuts previously.

"The best way to play the course is perhaps by erring on the side of being short of flag high but one thing I have found with the long putter is that I find it hard to judge the distance on putts coming from the front of the greens at Augusta when there is so much contour and so many ridges to negotiate. Anyway that's all ahead and I need to concentrate on this week first."

"I am however pleased to be back there and a little surprised at my jump in world ranking from 72nd to 46th. The new system allows for greater reward for top recent finishes and I am not about to complain."

Peter played the Tournament Course at Redstone Golf Club last year but missed the cut and is looking forward to a much improved showing.
