In a tournament where he finished runner up last year, Peter has slipped to a second round of 79 at the Zurich Classic and suffice to say has missed the cut by a big margin.

 After a round of 76 in yesterday's first round, Peter  was always under the gun if he was to have any chance of making the 1 under par cut but his round went from bad to worse after an opening bogey. Part of his late demise might well have been due to a lack of desire to grind given that he was resigned to the weekend off by the time he made the turn.

Peter is scheduled to play at next week's Wachovia Classic at Quail Hollow in Charlotte in North Carolina.
