2009_john_deer_classic_-_rd_2_-_m__cohen.jpgA triple bogey late in his second round has cost Peter any chance of making the cut at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro and so he will now have a month off during the Fed Ex Cup playoffs and return to competitive golf at the Turning Stone Resort Championship in New York starting on October 1st.

Peter will then have five events to earn the US$700, 000 or so he will need to retain status on the PGA Tour for 2010.

Peter's opening round of 68 this week was encouraging enough, giving him some hope of making progress with his game before his compulsory break and with just six holes to play in round two he was still inside the cut mark before disaster struck. The par four 4th was his 13th hole of the day and a pulled tee shot lead to a penalty drop and evenutally a triple bogey 7.

A bounce back birdie two holes later gave him a remote chance of making it through but he was unable to secure the two extra birdies he needed and a working weekend was not to be.

Once again Peter's scoring belied what was a more than reasonable week from tee to green but his 65 putts for 36 holes is never going to get the job done at this level.
