A final round of three under 68 at the PODS Championship at the Westin Innisbrook near Tampa, has seen Peter finish in 27th position in the tournament. Peter earns US$36,000.
After missing a short birdie opportunity at the first hole, the par five, Peter made sure he didn't miss his second chance when he holed his approach from 125 yards at the fifth for eagle. He then added further birdies at the 10th and 12th before a bogey at the 16th after his second from long range found the bunker left.
Peter's putting took a turn for the better this week and he heads off to the Arnold Palmer Championship at Bay Hill near his home in Orlando with his game in good shape.

Peter has safely made the cut at the PODS Championship in Tampa, his
second round of one over par 72 seeing him finish one shot inside the
two over cut mark.
Peter opened with a birdie today after getting
up and down from the bunker at the opening par five but then dropped a
shot at the third after missing the green. He made the turn in even par
36 and when he bogeyed the 11th after missing the green from 100 yards
he was at one over for the tournament. He was able to par in from there
after creating very few chances of birdie but he is in for the weekend.
It is the 6th cut Peter has made in eight starts in season 2007.
While in only 53rd position, Peter is just seven shots from the 36 hole lead held by fellow countryman, Stephen Leaney, and if he is able to put together a good round tomorrow then he could well work his way into contention.

Demanding layout at PODS Championship |

Peter is in Tampa or more correctly Palm Harbour near Tampa for this
week's PODS Championship, an event he has played on four previous
occasions making the cut in three and finishing with one top ten when
9th in his first attempt in 2003.
Peter arrives in Tampa after an indifferent week at last week's Honda Classic, more especially at the weekend.
The
one department that did not suffer too badly last week was Peter's
driving and it will need to be good this week on what is one of the
better layouts on the PGA Tour. The rough this year is thicker than in
previous years due mainly to the different time of the year for the
event and that the course is emerging from a winter period.
The
overseeding is still in full effect and the rye grass rough is longer
and thicker than previously has been the case. Peter plays at 12.50 in round one with Arron Oberholser and Jeff Sluman.

Slow weekend to finish Honda Classic |

Peter has completed a disappointing weekend at the Honda Classic, adding a second consecutive round of 74 to finish the tournament at 8 over par and in a tie for 62nd place.
Peter got off to a horror start today with a double bogey at his second hole after his tee shot was right and he could only get it back onto the fairway. From there he hit a poor third and made double bogey. He birdied the next from 15 feet but thereafter fell away to make the turn in 41.
Peter recovered over the back nine shooting a very impressive 33, including birdies on two of the four holes that make up the notorious Bear Trap, to finish with 74.
Despite finishing as well back as he did in the event there were still some positive signs in Peter's play during the week, more especially in his driving on what was a tough and demanding golf course layout at the Champion Course.
Peter will now drive across Florida to Tampa for this week's PODS Championship.

Impressive second round of 69 at Honda |

Peter has safely made the cut at the Honda Classic, his second round of 69 on the demanding Champion Course layout at PGA National moving him to 15th position at even par after his opening 71 yesterday.
No bogeys and one birdie (at his 9th hole today) has him well placed to continue the form he displayed last week in Mexico. Peter did not hit a lot of fairways or greens today but he scrambled well to keep himself in contention.
The birdie at the 9th came after laying up and hitting his third to six feet.
