Peter has made the cut at the US Bank Championship but has fallen victim to the MDF rule where a player who is not high enough placed in the tournament after 54 holes misses the chance to play the final round when field restrictions apply.
Peter's third round of 3 over par 73 would see him eliminated from the tournament although he will still earn a cheque for making the 36 hole cut.
Peter will now play the Canadian Open at Glen Abbey just outside of Toronto as he looks for that one big finish to improve his chances of retaining his PGA Tour status.
Peter scrapes through in Milwaukee

Peter has just made the cut at the US Bank Championship, holing a five foot putt at his final hole of the day to sneak inside the 1 over par cut mark.
An opening round of 72 at the event in Milwaukee had Peter needing something better in round two if he was to be around for the weekend. A bogey at his 5th hole did not make things any easier but a delighful pitch to the short par four 17th (his 8th hole of the day) set up a birdie to move back to even par for the day.
Peter still needed one more birdie and that would come at his 11th hole when he hit an approach from 130 yards to 6 feet and converted.
While it is not the start he was looking for, Peter has retained a chance to play the weekend for the fifth consecutive week, turning around a horror start to the season.

Peter is in Milwaukee this week for the US Bank Championship. While his game is not yet at the level he wants it to be there is little doubt of the progress he has made in recent weeks and this event offers another opportunity for that progress to continue.
"It is starting to get better," said Peter after last week's event in Silvis where he recorded his best finish of the season when 15th. "I actually started chipping
better and had a few good chances to have a really good finish."
Peter has played this event on only one previous occasion that coming last year when after a promising opening round of 67 he missed the cut.
A tee time of 8.25 on day one will assist Peter's cause when he tees it up with Brett Quigley and Charles Warren.
Best finish of season at John Deere

Peter has recorded his best finish of the season when 15th at the John Deere Classic in Silvis in Illinois. A final round of 67 on a day where he and the rest of the field were forced to play 36 holes improved Peter's third round position by seven places and he now heads to next week's US Bank Championship in Milwaukee satisfied with the progress he has made in recent weeks.
It was Peter's fourth cut made in succession and importantly there was improvement in many of his stats this week. With the third and fourth rounds being played on Sunday, Peter was quickly out of the blocks on Sunday morning when he birdied the first five holes and when he added another at the eighth he had moved to 12 under for the tournament and was very much in contention.
Peter stumbled when he missed the green left at the par four 11th and took four to get down, his back nine of 38 spoiling what had been such a promising start.
Out again quickly for the final round, Peter again made a fast start with two quick birdies before a bogey at the 6th cost him momentum. He would add three further birdies however and although he could not convert a couple of late chances it was nevertheless a particularly encouraging week.
Peter earned US$64,500.
Peter not too far away at John Deere Classic

Peter has added a two under par round of 69 to his opening 67 to be at 6 under and at the halfway mark of the John Deere Classic in Silvis, Illinois he finds himself in 22nd position. While seven shots from the 36 hole lead of Darron Stiles he is not that far from contention, especially given the 36 holes that he and the rest of the field will be required to play tomorrow.
Peter began the day with a bogey when he missed the green at the 10th hole but bounced back with a superb approach at the 11th. At even par for the day and 4 under for the tournament as he made the turn he needed to play the final nine in even par or better is he was to make the reduced cutline of 4 under. Only the leading 60 players and ties would make the weekend to accomodate the 36 holes on Sunday.
The two birdies on his back nine would come with a two putt birdie after a fine second at the par five second hole and then a great tee shot at the par three 7th.
It was another good day to and from the fairways but the putting misbehaved a little.
