Peter is in Charlotte in North Carolina for this week's Quail Hollow Championship trying to right a ship that went horribly wrong last week in New Orleans.
"Last week was a disaster, the only good thing to come out of missing the cut was that I got to spend some time with Barnesy (Peter's good mate and singing legend Jimmy) for the weekend and go to the Jazz Festival which was a lot of fun," said Peter from Charlotte today.
"I am not quite sure what went wrong last week as I was really looking forward to consolidating on the three cuts I had made in a row and hopefully getting this show on the road."
"The course here though is fantastic and with no rain likely will be very Australian like by the end of the week. I only hope I can remember how to play like an Australian."
Peter has a 1.40pm tee time on day one.
Horror week in New Orleans

In a tournament where he finished runner up last year, Peter has slipped to a second round of 79 at the Zurich Classic and suffice to say has missed the cut by a big margin.
After a round of 76 in yesterday's first round, Peter was always under the gun if he was to have any chance of making the 1 under par cut but his round went from bad to worse after an opening bogey. Part of his late demise might well have been due to a lack of desire to grind given that he was resigned to the weekend off by the time he made the turn.
Peter is scheduled to play at next week's Wachovia Classic at Quail Hollow in Charlotte in North Carolina.
TPC Louisiana holds fond memories

Peter is in Avondale just outside of New Orleans looking to discover the sort of form that saw him go so close to winning the Zurich Classic of New Orleans event last year.
The TPC Louisiana has been the home for this event for three of the last four years and Peter has played well in the two occasions he has played the event in 2007 and 2008. In 2007 he started well before faltering over the weekend while in 2008 he finished runner up.
Just over twelve months ago Peter was forced to return to complete his third round on the Sunday morning but over the next few hours he kept getting closer to the eventual winner Andres Romero. He was unable to find the fairway at the reachable par five last and was forced to settle for par which evenutally cost him a chance at the playoff.
Peter's form is beginning to come around, having made his last three cuts after a horror start to to season.
Further improvement for Peter

A final round of 73 has seen Peter finish 48th at the Verizon Heritage Classic. An early bogey set the tone for a frustrating day which had promised a little more given Peter's improved play earlier in the week. Peter got it back to par at the par five 5th but bogies at the 10th and 11th put paid to any realistic chances of a good week.
There were some positive signs however, more especially in Peter's driving and (until today at least) his putting. A stretch of three holes in yesterdays' third round was exciting as in those holes on the homeward nine Peter birdied two and eagled the other (the par four 16th). There he holed his approach from 127 yards.
Peter will now head west to New Orleans for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans where last year he finished runner up behind Anders Romero. (see pictured)
Late birdie earns Peter weekend start

A second round of 71 has Peter well inside the cut line at the Verizon Heriatge Classic at Harbour Town Links, a late birdie ensuring he would make the weekend and create the opportunity to continue the momentum his game has been building in recent weeks.
After his opening round of 1 over 72 had him requiring something better from his afternoon tee time in round two, Peter dropped a shot at the very first hole when he found trouble from the tee and was forced to lay up with his second. He bounced back with birdies at the two par fives on the front nine, the 2nd and the 5th but bogies at the 8th and 9th had him making the turn at 2 over for the tournament.
He reeled off a series of pars over the next few holes but with the potentially dangerous finishing holes to come then he needed a cushion to secure weekend work. That cushion would come at the par three 17th when he holed from 30 feet behind the flag and he walked ot the 18th one shot inside the looming cutline of 2 over. Despite missing the green at the last Peter was still able to save par with a seven footer.
