Peter changes putter for Verizon

peter_at_the_first_at_the_australian_openIn a move designed to reproduce the memories of his 2005 victory at Hilton Head, Peter has decided to use the short putter this week at the Verizon Heritage Classic. In 2005 Peter missed the cut at Augusta the week prior went home to Orlando and found a short putter in his garage which he used for the first time in several years and won his first PGA Tour event.

"Yes the short putter is going in the bag," said Peter on Wednesday morning. "There are a few changes in the bag actually with the new TaylorMade Z groove wedges being included at the cost of the Vokey wedges. They have tested really well with a bit of extra spin. Also they have been set up a with a bit more bounce to help out with some of the grainy fairways we encounter on the Tour. They are also a little heavier then normal at D4 swingweight so hopefully they will work out.

"I was upset at Augusta to score the way did on Friday after such a good start but in my own mind I know I am not playing as badly as the score might suggest and am looking forward to this week."

"The course is in perfect shape for this week. Probably the best ever that I have seen it anyway and the weather is going to cooperate with mid 70s all week."

Peter will play with Bob Tway and New Zealander Tim Wilkinson in the opening rounds where he has a late tee time on day one.
