Peter has opened his Cialis Western Open campaign with a first round of two under 69 but it was a round of golf where the score did not really reflect the manner in which he played overall. 

An opening birdie at the par four first after his second finished three feet from the hole was followed by two rather soft bogeys at the second and third holes but from that point on Peter created numerous chances for himself, especially through the middle of his round.

He missed very makeable birdie chances at the 6th, 7th, 8th and 10th holes but did make one at the par five 9th when he pitched close after laying up.

He made another at the par five 11th after again pitching to ten feet and was then one under for the day. He missed another good opportunity at the 14th before a birde at the par five 15th after a good second shot finished just through the green.

A very good par save from the sand at the 17th became necessary after his drive finished in a bad lie in the rough from the tee and he pulled his second left.

At two under Peter is just three from the lead of Lucas Glover, Joe Ogilvie, Daniel Chopra and David McKenzie and will have an early tee time tomorrow to improve that position.
