It was a case of inconsistency getting the better of Peter over the opening two rounds of the Rex Hospital Open in Raleigh in North Carolina but again there was enough good things about the opening 36 holes for him to build on. Peter missed the cut however and will head to Witchita for next week's Preferred Health Systems Witchita Open.

Eight birdies were ruined by a triple bogey on day one and a double early in his second round. He needed to make a fast start to round two if he was to have any chance of fighting his way back to the cutline after his opening round of 75.

It was not to be as he double bogeyed the third hole of his round and although he immediately bounced back with three consecutive birdies the damage had been done. He finished with a creditable round of 70 given the circumstances but he missed out on playing the weekend.

There was certanly improvement in his putting this week which is encouraging.
