His final round of 70 will see him earn US$209,000 and after a somewhat stop / start season in 2006, he now appears to be building momentum with his game. Today's final round was not quite as impressive as those earlier in the week but Peter was able to put together a solid even par round on a golf course that was proving increasingly difficult to handle. His birdies came at the 8th after a fine tee shot to 8 feet at the par three and at the 14th after his second finished again just 8 feet away. There were a couple of very good par saves on the back nine but overall his play today was not as sharp as it had been earlier in the week. Peter was attempting to put together his eighth consecutive round under 70 at the Colonial Golf Club having finished third here last year. He had a chance at the last from 25 feet to do just that and join an illustrious goup of players to have done so but he missed out. Peter will now have this week off before playing at another of his favourtie courses at Muirfield Village where the Memorial will be played in ten days time. photo by Hunter Martin / Wire Image |
