Peter played early on day one and made a less than impressive start to his tournament when, after missing good opportunities for birdies at his second and third holes, he bogeyed his fourth hole of the day (the course's 13th) when he had a brain explosion with his first putt from 15 feet at the par five and three putted for bogey. Almost as if that set off a spark in him, Peter then birdied his next four holes, two of the putts being from over 25 feet. He made a nice par save at his 10th hole before another birdie from 7 feet at his 11th. A great tee shot at the 17th set up his last birdie to move to five under and, at the completion of round one, Peter sits in a four way share of first place with his playing partner for the day Heath Slocum, Scott Verplank and Harrison Frazar.
Peter will play late on day two.
