Peter has withdrawn after the first round of qualifying for the US Open. A three over 75 in round one had virtually eliminated any chance he had of making what was looking like an under par qualifying score and after one of  his longest stretches of continuous golf in his PGA Tour career, he withdrew.

Peter will spend the next two weeks in Orlando and look to return to the PGA Tour at the Travelers Championship in Hartford which starts on June 21st.

Despite a disappointing missed cut at the Memorial, Peter has had a good run during his lengthy stretch of eight consecutive tournaments, finishing 6th at the Players Championship and 18th at the Crowne Plaza Invitational and all but securing his playing rights for 2008.
