2007_the_players_championship_-_hunter_martin_wireimageAfter withdrawing from last week's Wachovia Championship with a niggling back complaint, Peter has hit a few balls today (Monday) as he looks ahead to hopefully playing this week's Players Championship.

"I hit ten or so balls today to test it out and it felt ok but tomorow when I play a practice round will be the true test," said Peter from Ponte Vedra Beach today. "I came back to Orlando after spending Friday at the Wachovia and having work done on the back there by the guys from the PGA Tour fitness trailer. It appears there is nothing major wrong but rather a strain but have kept the back on ice for most of the weekend."

"I drove up here from Orlando and it feels ok after the few balls I hit so - touch wood - it will be ok."

All things being equal Peter will play this week and the next three weeks including the AT&T event in Atlanta, then the Crown Plaza Invitational, then the Memorial then a week off before hopefully the US Open. At present Peter is not qualified for the US Open but those inside the top 50 in the world as at May 26th will gain a start. Peter is currently 57th in the world.

If he is unable to move inside the top 50 at that date then he will be required to qualify immediately after the Memorial Championshiop.
