Peter has edged into a share of third place from his ovenight 7th place position at the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Mexico and although five behind the third round leader, Fred Funk, he has given himself a chance at victory.

Peter recovered from an early bogey with four birdies and his round of 67 keeps him well in touch.

Funk has been struggling with a bad back for a few weeks but today it became necessary for him to get massage on the course during the round. Perhaps it was a case of beware the wounded golfer as he went on to record a third round of 64 and leads by two over Argentine, Jose Coceres, with three shots further back to Peter and Cameron Beckman.

Peter will play in the final group tomorrow with Coceres and Funk.
