After returning to the course to complete his third round this morning (US time), Peter immediately birdied his 9th hole but was unable to build any further momentum until a birdie at the last saw him enter round four in fifth place and just two behind the leaders, Rory Sabbatini, Scott Verplank and Jim Furyk. Peter made a poor start in his quest to chase down the leaders in round four, making the turn in three over 38. He had then fallen back to six under for the tournament and his chances of victory were well and truly gone. Two birdies in his last nine holes however saw him recover some lost ground and he earned a cheque for US$75,000 for his week's work. It was a perhaps disappointing finish to a week that had offered greater promise.
