Peter's round of 70 has him at three under and although some seven shots from the leader, Phil Mickelson, he is only three shots out of those in second palce. Peter found the greenside bunker at the last and was unable to save par but probably a bigger disappointment was when he was starting a run early in his round reaching two under through seven holes before taking bogey at the par five 17th (his 8th). Still it has been an encouraging two days to date and he has the chance to improve over the weekend.

Despite a last hole bogey in round two of the Northern Trust Open at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, Peter has made his first cut of the year on the 2008 PGA Tour and is not too far from contention.
