Peter finished one shot inside what would be the qualifying mark, his final round of 70 securing him a share of 15th position in the 72 hole event. He finished at 1 under and with even par also getting through he had a shot to spare. "To say the least I am pretty happy - that was a long long four days let me give you the tip. I have got to say it was hard work. You forget how used to playing you get and to not have played a four round event in nine months well I was on the knife-edge from day one. Every day I was over par after seven or eight holes so it was a grind and nothing really came all that naturally but it was good. I am really looking to getting home and sitting back on the couch and having a beer that's for sure!" "I had actually thought I had missed when I finished but it was a pleasant surprise when they told me I was in. I was the first one in on my score and having felt when I went out that I needed to be 2 under I was unsure. I three putted the 15th but then birdied the 16th. I still felt I needed one more. When I got in the guys in the scoring hut said that will get in and I said - are you sure? I was expecting them to say oh that will be close so I was delighted to hear those words from them. "I was happy with the way I played. The first couple of days I was all over the shop but putted quite well to keep myself in it but the last two days and especially today, when I really needed to over the back nine, I was fushing it. I feel I have got my yardage back perhaps even longer than was the case eighteen months ago when I was being hampered by injury. "I know this is only another step in the process but I am excited that it all came together." "The Final Stage is only twenty minutes drive from my house and Greg Owen, who plays on the Tour, and also qualified in Panama City, is a member there and he has already sent me a text to say we will have a game or two there over the next couple of weeks." Final Stage begins on December 1st at Orange County National near Orlando. Peter will unfortunately miss the Australian Open Championship which falls on the week of the Final Stage but will be back in Australia for the PGA Championship at Hyatt Regency Coolum

Peter was a happy and relieved man as he headed back on the five hour drive to his home in Orlando from Stage Two of the PGA Tour qualifying. Just two hours earlier Peter had survived a nail biting final round of qualifying at his venue in Panama City, ensuring he would earn the right to play at the Final Stage of Qualifying in two weeks time.
