Peter has missed out at International Final Qualifying for this month's Open Championship at Carnoustie after rounds of 75 and 73 left him well short of the required mark to gain on of the 16 places available at the Oakland Hills venue.

This will be the first time since 2000 that Peter has not played the Open Championship and further highlights the importance of his bogey, bogey finish at Hoylake last year. A birdie, par finish at the closing par fives would have secured Peter a top ten and a guaranteed start this year.

Peter will now play the AT&T National event at the Congressional Golf Club just outside of Washington DC this week.
