Peter was looking for a good week in Boston this week in order that he might squeeze through to the BMW Championship at Cog Hill next week. He might yet, but by missing the cut at the Deutsche Bank Championship it appears his chances are now slim.

Peter's projected points standing after the cut was made is 74th but with only 70 getting in the field in Chicago he will need to rely on others over the next two days if he is to have any hope of meaningful work next week. 

Six dropped shots in five holes early in his back nine in today's second round at the TPC Boston would see Peter miss the cut by three shots.

After an opening round of one over 72, Peter was comfortably inside the cut line when he made the turn today at even par for the tournament. At the 14th hole he was long with his approach and  took bogey. At the 13th he hit a good drive but was short with his second and then hit a poor chip and took double, He took another double at the 14th when he pulled his tee shot into thick rough left and failed to clear the rough with his second. He would bogey the 16th after being a little long with his tee shot but although it was too late to make the cut he managed to birdie the last two holes to give his round some respectability.

If Peter does not make the field for the BMW he will take the next two weeks off and return probably at the Turning Stone Resort event in New York.

footnote: Peter has missed out in playing the BMW Championship after he finished in 72nd place on the FedEx Cup points race at the completion of the Deutsche Bank Championship. Only the top 70 are eligible for the event and so Peter's next event is now likely to be at the Turning Point Resort Championship starting on September 20th.
