Peter has finished with a second round of 70 at the Australian Open and finds himself at 5 under at the completion of 36 holes. At this stage he is in a share of 6th although that might well change based on the scoring when the afternon half of the field return to complete their rounds tomorrow.

"I played reasonably well. I havent made many mistakes in the first 36 holes apart from taking two to get out of the bunker at the 14th yesterday, three putting the 17th today and taking bogey from the middle of the fairway at the first which was my 10th. That was annoying as i was posing on the shot thinking it was good but it came up short in the trap. Apart from that it is feeling pretty good." 

Rain halted play at 3.00pm and a decision was made at 4.40 for play to be called of for the day with those still to finish their second rounds to recommence at 6.45am on Saturday morning.

The third round will then begin at 11.45. Peter is six behind the leader, Stephen Dartnall of Western Australia
