Peter still has a chance to qualify for the Open as the leading player in this week's event, not otherwise qualified for Royal Birkdale, gets a last minute start. "I am happy with the way my game is progressing," said Peter after his final practice round at the TPC Deere Run. "I have picked up some yardage in the last few starts and my putting has generally been good. I am enjoying the new putter I am now using and even though I might take a little weight out of it I am generally very happy with the way the ball is rolling and because it is going ok perhaps I should not touch it. I didn't really hole all that many long putts last week as I managed to hit it close even in my round of 63 quite often on Sunday." "There has been a lot of rain and flooding in the area but the course is in great shape. It is though a long and tough walking course but the back has held up pretty well," he added referring to his earlier back injury. Peter has an afternoon tee time on day one when he will play with Bubba Watson and Steve Allan

Peter is in Moline in the west of Illinois this week
for the John Deere Classic, an event he has played just once, that
coming last year when he missed the cut. Peter has normally been
playing Scottish Opens at Loch Lomond as a forerunner to Open Championships when this event is but having
missed out on Open Championship qualifying recently he will play here
looking to capitalise on some recent good form.
