"The winds on Sunday were amongst the strongest I have played in over the closing stages of a tournament. On the 4th hole on Sunday I had 212 yards and hit a three wood flat out. I was playing with Kenny Perry in that round and at the last hole he hit a drive 460 yards such was the strength of the helping wind." "At Torrey Pines this week the thing that is most noticeable so far is the lack of rough. Normally the rough here is very thick but this week there is hardly any length to it. " Peter has played this event twice previously finishing 14th in 2005 and 22nd in his first attempt in 2002 and so enters this this week with one of the better overall records amongst the field in this event. A last round of 77 in 2005 cost him a chance of winning after being just one behind entering the final day. |

As Peter prepared himself for his third visit to the Buick Inviational at Torrey Pines near San Diego, he reflected back on his opening two weeks on the PGA Tour in 2007. "Hawaii (Sony Open) was a little bit rusty but last week, although my putter and I did not always get along, there was considerable improvement in the ball striking. I didn't really come to terms with reading the greens all that well but that aside I was pleased with the week."
