"I was very happy last week although I did had a few good opportunities to post a great score on Sunday. I ran the edges on the last nine but it wasn't to be." "This week is going to be a serious test. The fairways have all been mown green to tee (a la Augusta), making it as long as possible. They have also done it with the rough which means it is always lying against you. Whoever wins this week is going to have to drive it perfect as I cant see people smashing it out of the rough and onto the greens."
"The greens aren't as fast as we are used to seeing but
they are extremely undulating. There are a lot of tough pin spots which will be very
difficult to get to." "My game feels pretty good at the moment and as long as I drive it as I did last Sunday hopefully I can do ok." Peter has an 8.30am tee time on day one when he will play with Steve Stricker and Jeff Quinney. Footnote: Peter played his second practice round on Wednesday. "The course is a little drier today and the greens, although not overly fast, are certainly drying out quickly and are quite firm. This will be a beast this week and although I am happy with the way I am playing, this will be a day to day proposition." |
