Despite the almost ridiculously low scoring early in the Bob Hope Classic, Peter finds himself well positioned after 36 holes. A second round of 67 today to go with his opening round of 65 has him at 12 under and although 8 shots behind the leader, Pat Perez, he is in good shape as the event heads into the third and fourth rounds before the cut at the completion of 72 holes. Peter's only real mistake came in his opening 36 holes of the 90 hole event came at his 9th hole today when he pulled his second into the hazard short and left of the green but that aside it has been an encouraging start after missing the cut last week in Hawaii. The quality of Peter's play is perhaps best summed up by some outstanding fairways and green statistics, his new Callaway driver assisting him to some very accurate figures from the tee. His putting has been nothing special but it has been solid and he heads into his third round at Bermuda Dunes tomorrow feeling good about his game generally
