A second consecutive round of 74 has seen Peter finish one shot inside the cutline at the PGA Championship and while in 59th position, two good weekend rounds could well make up considerable ground on the Oakland Hills layout.

Peter started well in round two and an early birdie had him in good shape. Three bogies followed in quick succession and when he made the turn he was at 6 over for the tournament but still inside the likely cut line of 8 over. A birdie at his 10th hole appeared to give him a cushion but then came a bogey at the 13th, the 17th and at 7 over there was no room for any serious mistake at the last. 

Peter dropped one shot at his final hole but he had done enough to keep him in the field for the weekend.
