While he is very much in contention on a golf course which, to a large extent, suits him because of its firm and fast characteristics, Peter dropped three shots in his last four holes after taking the lead at 10 under through 13 holes. There will therefore be mixed emotions as he contemplates the final 36 holes but the start he has made is very encouraging and the prospects for the weekend are good. "I started off really well. Hit a lot of close shots the first six holes, and I only holed one of them. I'm thinking, this is going to be a good day. I holed a few more later on, but unfortunately came in in an ambulance the last few." "I don't want to get too far ahead of myself. It's nice to play on the weekend, and I've done a bit of work and I think it's improving. Now if I can just hit a few fairways tomorrow and Sunday, I think I'll have a good chance." "I'll spend a little time on the range this afternoon to try and work out what went wrong over the closing holes today," Peter will play in the final group with Briny Baird in round three. |

Peter has continued his opening round form at the
Zurich Classic of New Orleans adding a second round of 70 to his
opening round of 67 and at 7 under he trails only Briny Baird as the
tournament heads into the weekend.
