"I spent a couple of hours with David (Leadbetter) earlier this week just fine tuning some issues with my downswing. It is all starting to feel pretty good although last week my driving let me down a little. I hit my irons just great at the Colonial and putted well but if I had been able to drive it a little better then things might have turned out a little different. Still it was a good week." Peter finished in a share of 4th place. "I have also started to do some work with Neale Smith, an Australian who played the PGA Tour for a little while and who is helping out several players. He is a Sports Psychologist but he is essentially helping me with issues to do with getting more out of practice. If you like it is a case of less is more. I have typically spent a lot of time on the practice fairway but not always with a lot of direction and so Neale and I have spent some time discussing how to get the best out of the time I spend practising and how to make it more enjoyable. Some of that is to do with creating more tournament situations while practicing." Peter's next event is at the Memorial at Muifield Village in Ohio, a tournament and venue which several years ago provided the confidence for him to tackle the PGA Tour. In 2001 Peter finished in 15th place while playing there on invite and convinced him that he could compete on the USPGA Tour. Later that year he secured his card for the 2002 USPGA Tour. "I think it is a great track," said Peter. At the completion of the Memorial, in fact on the Monday following, Peter will look to qualify for the US Open at a venue in Ohio. At this stage Peter is not qualified to play the US Open but does have a start the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool Golf Club. photo by Marc Feldman WireImage.com |

Peter has spent his week off between last week's Bank of America
Colonial and next week's Memorial Tournament working on his game and
getting some assistance with his practicing techniques.
