Peter has continued the form he showed on day one of the Buick Championship at the tricky TPC River Highlands course near Hartford and at the completion of 36 holes he trails the leader, Darron Stiles, by just one shot and has outright second to himself at this stage.

In what is a very congested leaderboard there are just eight shots separating the leader Stiles and the cut mark. Both Peter and Stiles broke clear of a six or seven way tie for the lead late in their rounds.

Peter started his round slowly in terms of his score but he was still producing plenty of quality shots. He missed opportunities from fifteen feet or less at the first four holes before a poor approach from 90 yards at the par five 6th cost him a shot. 

His first birdie of the day came at the 9th after his approach finished just three feet from the hole. He failed to make a birdie at the par five 13th from just left of the green with his second, but at the very next hole he hit his second to 4 feet and when he holed that he was at six under for the tournament and sharing the lead once again. 

At the tempting but dangerous par four 15th, Peter pulled his tee shot and it came to rest on the edge of the hazard. He could only just adavnce it and in the end a par was a very good score.

His final birdie of the day came at the dogleg right par four 17th around the water. Another good drive there was followed by an eight iron to 13 feet and when he holed that he was again in the lead but this time with Darron Stiles.

Peter parred the last and will play in the last group tomorrow with the leader, Stiles.
