Peter has recovered from a horror start to his opening round at the Open Championship and although in 50th place at one under, he is within five shots of the leader, Graeme McDowell.

A bogey at the first was followed by a double bogey at the dangerous third but he was back almost immediately with birdies at the 5th, 7th and 10th and then birdied three of the last four holes. There were also a couple of further bogeys thrown into the mix but, all in all, the one under round of 71 was a lot better than it was looking early.

Peter now has an early 7.47 tee time on day two to hopefully take advantage of and move forward.
