Peter is back in his adopted State of Florida this week for the third to last event on the Nationwide Tour schedule, the Miccosukee Championship at the Miccosukee Golf and Country Club in Miami.
Following what was an encouraging best Nationwide Tour finish of the year last week in Chattanooga, Peter heads into this week's event with a lot more confidence given the improvement in all aspects of his game which even includes his putttng: "I am still a little dodgy over the short ones with the short putter but I am definitely holing more longer putts," said Peter on Monday referring to his recent switch to the short putter.
While the main aim over the next two events is to force his way into the top 60 who will play the season ending Tour Championship in two weeks time and thus open the opportunity for a late bid for the top 25 on the money list, there are other moneylist milestones for Peter which are also important.
Full exemption on the 2012 Nationwide Tour comes from finishing inside the top 60 on the money list, access to the Final Stage of the PGA Tour School comes as a result of finishing between 26th and 40th and a place on the 2012 PGA Tour is the reward for those inside the top 25.
While there is still a lot of work for Peter to do to reach any of those milestones his improvement to 85th last week has assisted his cause and with the knowledge that his game is improving each and every week the possibilities are still wide open.
Update Wed 13th
"The course this week is a pretty good one and If
the wind blows it will be quite the test," said Peter on Wednesday.
"I have spent a lot of time on the putting and chipping
green and I think I am on the right track. The greens are quite grainy so will
be a big test for me.
"I was fairly happy with last week but it would be very
good for the confidence if I could string a couple of good tournaments in a
row.
"Top 60 on the Order of Merit would be great as it would
allow me to come back and play Australia. That would be the best present of
all."
