Peter's improvement continues in Missouri

Peter has continued his good recent progress with a second round of 68 at the Price Cutter Charity Championship in Missouri.

The round, along with his opening 69, has him in a share of 25th position at 7 under and seven shots behind the leader, Steve Friesen.

Peter's play on the par fives has improved this week with birdies on six of the eight he has played to date and his decision to change his three wood this week to provide better access to the par fives has worked.

Another chance for things to move forward

Peter this week gets another chance to build momentum in his Nationwide Tour campaign when he tees it up at the Highlands Spring Country  Club  in Springfield in Missouri for this week's Price Cutter Charity Championship Presented by Dr Pepper.

Following a frustrating two weeks which have seen Peter miss the cut despite not playing all that badly he needs to build on some of the momentum he gained with his two solid weeks on the PGA Tour in Mississippi and Canada.

"I have played the course and I think it is pretty good," said Peter on Wednesday evening. "It is relatively short with not a great deal of rough so I would expect the scores to be pretty good and a low cut again.

"I did a little bit of work with my three wood and have changed from the R11 to the superfast. It spins a little less but let's me start the ball with a little more loft.I think it will be a good change for the par 5s which have been probably the worst part of my game."

Peter will have an afternoon tee time on day one when he will play with fellow Australian Gavin Coles and American Vance Veazey

Peter out of Cox Classic

The frustration continued this week for Peter with enough good golf to keep him encouraged but another missed cut the end result of his week at the Cox Classic in Omaha, Nebraska.

A second round of  69 was a slight imporvement on yesterday's 70 but it was yet another week that got away on Peter. A double bogey in the middle of yesterday's round when he was beginning to build momentum after a slow start certainly did not help but  It was the putter more than anything that let him down this week.

Overall Peter's ball striking was ok but he had not felt comfortable on the course all week and now looks to next week's Price Cutters Charity Championship in Springfield in Missouri for hopefully better things ahead.

Peter in Nebraska for this week's Cox Classic

After a week of frustration last week at the Utah Championship in Sandy in Utah, Peter has moved north and east to Omaha in Nebraska for this week's Cox Classic Presented by Lexus of Omaha.

Omaha is the largest city in the State of Nebraska with a population of 400,000 and it is at the Champions Run layout there where Peter will play this week's event.

This is the first time for Peter at the tournament but that should prove no real concern for him. What is of concern for Peter and the rest of the field is the very hot weather in the region at present. "Yesterday was the hottest day I can recall in a long while," said Peter this morning.

Peter has a morning tee time on day one, hoping to build on some of the more promising form he has shown in recent weeks.

Frustrating week ends for Peter

A week of frustration for Peter has ended with him narrowly missing the cut at the Utah Championship in Sandy, Utah. An improved second round of 68 was not quite good enough to get him though to the weekend but there was a continuation of of some encouraging signs of late.

The week started when Peter's caddy in recent weeks advised him that he had found a bag on the PGA Tour and while Peter could understand the reasoning that the advice came on Monday evening it left him little time to sort out another caddy especially on a golf course he was playing for the first occasion.

Throw in the altitude factor in Sandy where distances can vary by as much as 10%  and it was a frustrating week in which Peter never really got comfortable early on.

Things appeared to be improving today when Peter birdied three of his opening nine holes and on making the turn he eagled the par five 1st hole and was comfortably inside the cut mark. Bogeys at his 13th and 14th holes and he was in trouble but a birdie at the 15th had him on the cusp.

A bogey at the 17th would mean he would need a birdie at the last to make it through but it was not to be and so Peter will have the weekend off.

Peter was hoping he might have a start at next week's Reno Tahoe Open but as entries closed today it appears he will not and so he will head to Nebraska for the Cox Classic in Omaha.
