It is very hot in College Park in Maryland this week where Peter will play the Melwood Prince George's County Open presented by Under Armour. "I must say it is bloody hot here," said Peter after his first practice round on Tuesday on the University of Maryland's Golf Course.

"I only got to play 9 holes today as they had a pro-am. Hopefully I will get to look at the other 9 holes tomorrow. From what I saw it is a pretty good course. The rough is up also which makes it probably the first track to have genuine rough this year.

"Last week I spent most of the week trying to dial in my sand wedges.I think I did a pretty good job and am looking forward to testing them out."

Peter will also attempt US Open qualifying next Monday at the venue in Rockville in Maryland in an attempt to get a start at this year's US Open at Congressional beginning on June 16th.

It might have been only 31st that Peter finished at this week's BMW Charity Pro Am in North and South Carolina but there was reason for encouragement as it was his best finish on the Nationwide Tour in 2011.

"It wasn't a perfect week but there was definitely improvement," said Peter soon after he had completed his final round of 70 to finish at 11 under par for the week.

"I went back to my rifle shafts this week and I had much better depth control. Why I even changed at the start of the year only comes down to me being an idiot

"I also changed the putter loft back to -2 degrees loft, which according to those who know is not a good idea but is the only loft I have ever putted well with over the last 15 years - another case of me being an idiot!!!

"Next week I am going to work on my pitching most of the week and tighten up the putter a little for Maryland."

Peter has this week off but will be back playing at next week's Melwood Prince George's County open in Maryland.

Improvement for Peter at BMW

Peter has safely negotiated his way through the opening two rounds of the BMW Charity Pro Am Presented by Synnex on the border of North and South Carolina. At the completion of 36 holes Peter is in 31st position at 7 under, his round of 71 today played over the more demanding Thornblade Club.

Peter's opening round of 67 yesterday at the Carolina Country Club was impressive with a significant improvement in his putting. Peter made a few changes to his set-up and it seemed to work yesterday although not quite as sharp on day two.

"I set the putter up the same as the old days with - 2 degree loft," said Peter after round one. "It seemed to work pretty well. It seems to combine well with the fact that I like putting the ball forward in my stance. I find it easier to line up when it is forward."

Peter will now play the one remaining course in the rotation, the Brights Creek Golf Club, before the event returns to the host course the Thornblade Golf Club in Greer in South Carolina.

More work needed for Peter

After missing the cut by a substantial margin in this past week's Stadion Classic in Athens in Georgia, Peter will again head back to his home in Orlando and await the next event on the Nationwide Tour, the BMW Charity Golf Pro Am on the border of North and South Carolina.

Peter struggled for much of the 36 holes he got to play before missing the cut in this week's event .

"Last week was seriously hard work, said Peter from Orlando tonight. "I actually played tee to green pretty poorly. In the first round I actually chipped well enough to get it in the house in par but unfortunately my putting let me down again.

"The writing was on the wall on the Friday when I misjudged my second shot into the 12th (my third hole) and made double.

"This week will be in Orlando practicing. Believe it or not there will be lots of short game work and am trying to get to see a Pelz guy this week as well.

"I will keep throwing punches"
